Foundation's Fundraiser Adds to the GAP Fund
|

On April 27th, the Foundation held its annual "Bridging the Gap" Fundraiser. The evening began in the Assisted Living Community Room with a Silent Auction, Wine Cellar Sale and Social Hour. Guests then moved to The Residences’ Dining Room for Dinner followed by a Tablet Computer Raffle and Live Auction. Over $31,000 was raised during this event. The net proceeds provide monthly operating support for Assisted Living @ESC, where over 60% of the residents rely on Medicaid for support. Pictures from the evening are posted on our Facebook page.

Eaton Senior Communities Wins Sustainability Award

Eaton Senior Communities was honored with a “Community Sustainability Award” from the City of Lakewood. Staff, Board Members and an ESC Resident received this honor at the City Council meeting and reception on April 22nd.
While the communities are over thirty years old, recent renovations have resulted in water and utility savings. A partial list of these renovations includes drought-tolerant landscaping, more efficient irrigation, new boilers, lighting upgrades, appliance replacement, water-saving toilets, and energy-efficient light bulbs.
A resident-led recycling initiative has decreased landfill trash and greatly increased recycling at ESC. The Sustainability Committee, comprised of residents and staff, continues to meet bi-monthly to expand the “green” efforts at Eaton Senior Communities.
